Absconding second accused in Sreenivasan murder case nabbed during Kochi leisure trip

Kochi: The second accused in the Palakkad Sreenivasan murder case, who had been absconding, has been taken into custody. Shamnad, a Popular Front of India (PFI) activist, was apprehended by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) while he was on a leisure trip to Kochi.
He was detained in the evening. Shamnad is the second accused in the case related to the murder of RSS worker Sreenivasan in Palakkad. The murder was carried out on April 16, 2022. Shamnad is alleged to be part of a six-member gang that arrived on motorbikes and entered a shop to kill Sreenivasan.
Four individuals arrested earlier in connection with the case are currently in remand. One more accused remains at large in the case.
On Wednesday, the Kerala High Court had granted bail to 10 accused in the case.
