Shocking! Body of newborn found in bag at Thrissur railway station

Thrissur: The body of a newborn baby was discovered abandoned in a bag at Thrissur railway station around 8:45 AM on Sunday. The bag was located near the lift on the overbridge connecting Platforms 1 and 2. A railway employee spotted the bag and alerted the railway police because of its unusual weight. 

Upon inspection, the police found the body of a baby who appeared to be only one day old. The cause of death will be determined following a postmortem examination. The body has been moved to the Thrissur District Hospital’s mortuary for further examination.

Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the individual who left the baby at the station. Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to aid in their search. The section of the railway station where the body was found has been sealed off by the police.
