Minor tribal girl gang-raped in Wayanad after being forced to drink alcohol; two arrested

Kalpetta: A 16-year-old schoolgirl from Wayanad was allegedly gang-raped after making her consume alcohol. Two men have been arrested in connection with the incident.

According to police, the girl, a member of a tribal community, was abducted and raped by the two accused. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ashiq and Jayaraj, both residents of Mananthavady.

A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The accused were taken into custody earlier and were formally arrested on Wednesday following interrogation.
