Kerala man missing after visit to wife’s house; family receives ransom call demanding Rs.10 lakhs

Kozhikode: A 33-year-old man from Cheruvatta, Kozhikode, has gone missing following a visit to his wife’s house in Thamarassery. Harshad was reportedly abducted by an unknown gang on Saturday night, leaving his family in distress after receiving a ransom call demanding Rs 10 lakh for his release.
Harshad arrived at his wife’s residence on Saturday and stepped outside the house around 12:30 a.m. to attend a phone call. When he failed to return, his wife lodged a complaint with the Thamarassery police the following day.
That same day, Harshad’s family received a shocking phone call: it was Harshad himself, claiming he had been abducted and demanding Rs 10 lakh for his release. The call was then taken over by another person who once again made the ransom demand. This alarming information was immediately conveyed to the police by Harshad’s relatives.
In a significant development, the police have located the car believed to have been used in Harshad’s abduction. The vehicle, identified as a rented car, was found with its front window broken.
The police have since moved the vehicle to the station for further investigation. Authorities suspect that the abduction may be linked to a financial dispute involving Harshad.
