Kerala woman found murdered in Dubai; Friend arrested while fleeing

Dubai: A 26-year-old woman from Bonacaud, Vithura in Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala, was found murdered in Dubai, and her male friend has been arrested in connection with the case.
The deceased, Animol Gilda, worked for a private credit sales company in the UAE and had been residing there for over a year and a half.
The suspect, reportedly a native of Thiruvananthapuram employed at a hospital in Abu Dhabi, was arrested at Dubai airport while attempting to flee the country. The murder is believed to have occurred in Al Karama earlier this month.
According to friends, Animol and the accused had become acquainted via social media, and he had played a role in facilitating her move to the UAE. The accused reportedly travelled from Abu Dhabi to Dubai the day before the murder.
Although Dubai Police have confirmed it as a case of murder, detailed official statements regarding the cause of death are yet to be released. Initial accounts suggest that personal disputes between the two may have led to the crime.
Animol is daughter of Jayakumar and Gilda. Social workers in Dubai have stated that the repatriation of her body is expected to be completed by tonight. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death are ongoing.
