Thiruvananthapuram: The post-mortem report confirmed that the two-year-old baby girl from Balaramapuram drowned. The report stated that there were no signs of external injuries on the child's body, but water was found in her lungs. Initially, there were suspicions that the baby had been murdered before being dumped into a well. However, the post-mortem revealed that the child was likely thrown into the well alive.

Following the post-mortem, the body was taken to a relative’s house.

The body is currently being kept for public homage at the relative's house. People from the community have gathered, with tears in their eyes, to see little Devendu one last time. The family remained in mourning, with her sister in tears, still unaware of the exact circumstances surrounding her sibling's death. Given the involvement of family members in the case, the next steps in the investigation are becoming clearer.

Meanwhile, Shreethu, the mother of the child, is now being included as an accused in the case. There were contradictions in the statements of Shreethu, her husband Sreejith and her brother Harikumar during questioning. A critical piece of evidence was reportedly uncovered from Shreethu’s phone, revealing chats with her brother Harikumar.
