Hyderabad horror: Grandson kills 86-year-old businessman over property dispute

Hyderabad: In a horrifying incident, 86-year-old industrialist Velamati Chandrasekhara Janardhana Rao, the head of Veljan Group of Companies, was murdered by his grandson, Keerthi Teja, over a property dispute. The tragic event took place late Thursday night in the Panjagutta area of Hyderabad.

According to the Panjagutta police, the altercation between the two began over disagreements regarding inheritance. During a heated argument, 28-year-old Teja attacked his grandfather, stabbing him multiple times with a knife. Rao succumbed to his injuries soon after the attack.

In a desperate attempt to stop her son, Teja’s mother intervened but was also stabbed in the process. She sustained injuries and is currently being treated at a local hospital, where her condition is reported to be stable.

The police quickly arrested the accused, Keerthi Teja, who has been remanded into custody. Authorities are now investigating the details of the property dispute that led to the fatal attack.
