French Ambassador pickpocketed while shopping with wife in Delhi; stolen phone later recovered

New Delhi: French Ambassador to India Thierry Mathou had his mobile phone stolen while out shopping with his wife in Delhi as part of Diwali festivities. Police later recovered the stolen phone and arrested four individuals.
The theft occurred on October 20.
Thierry Mathou had been shopping with his wife in Chandni Chowk market when he fell victim to pickpocketing. He filed an e-complaint, reporting that his phone went missing near the Jain Temple.
Following the complaint, the police conducted an investigation focusing on CCTV footage, which led to the apprehension of the suspects.
The four individuals arrested are aged between 20 and 25 years. The stolen mobile phone was successfully retrieved from them.
