Another attack on female doctor raises alarm after Kolkata horror

Mumbai: An on-duty female doctor at Sion Hospital in Mumbai was allegedly attacked by five to six drunk attendants. 

The attack occurred early in the morning, around 3:30 AM. The doctor was reportedly assaulted by the intoxicated relatives of a patient who had arrived at the hospital with injuries. The attackers, in a drunken state, attempted to assault and abuse the doctor. The female doctor sustained injuries while defending herself.

An FIR has been filed at the Sion police station, and the victim is currently recording her statement, according to reports. Further details are awaited.

This incident comes just days after a tragic event in Kolkata, where a trainee doctor was brutally raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
