A tragic confrontation in Southwest Delhi’s Dwarka ended in bloodshed early Sunday morning when a Delhi Police head constable allegedly shot a food delivery agent dead and seriously wounded another man. The incident took place in the Jafarpur Kalan area following a dispute over a minor issue.

The violence erupted around 2:00 am during a birthday celebration for the two-year-old son of a local labourer. As guests were departing, a small group remained outside on their motorcycles. According to authorities, the accused, identified as Neeraj—a head constable attached to the Delhi Police Special Cell—approached the group from his nearby residence. A verbal altercation ensued, during which Neeraj reportedly opened fire.

The gunfire struck Pandav Kumar, a food delivery executive, in the chest. The projectile passed through his body and hit another man, Krishna, in the abdomen. While Pandav was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, Krishna remains under medical care.

Neeraj, a native of Haryana, was swiftly apprehended. Police have registered a formal case and are currently investigating the exact provocation that led to the fatal outburst. (With inputs from Agencies)
