New Delhi: CCTV footage capturing the fatal assault on Bollywood actor Huma Qureshi’s cousin, Asif Qureshi, has surfaced a day after his murder in southeast Delhi’s Bhogal locality. The 42-year-old was killed following a heated altercation over a scooter parking issue late Thursday night.

The video, which emerged on Friday, reveals a group of men attacking Asif in full public view. One of the attackers is seen stabbing him in the chest with a pointed object, while several bystanders appear to attempt to intervene. The confrontation took place outside Asif’s residence on Church Lane around 10.30 pm and escalated rapidly. Asif collapsed on the spot and was later declared dead at a nearby hospital.

According to police, the dispute stemmed from Asif objecting to a scooter parked outside his home. During the ensuing argument, he was assaulted with what investigators described as a “poker-type” weapon. The injury to his chest proved fatal.

Two teenagers from the same neighbourhood have been arrested in connection with the killing. The accused, identified as Ujjwal, 19, and Gautam, 18, live on the second floor of a building just a few houses away from the victim’s home on Church Lane. They were taken into custody shortly after the crime. A case has been registered at Hazrat Nizamuddin police station under Sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

“Further investigation is underway to ascertain the sequence of events and the role of each accused in the assault,” a senior officer said.

Asif Qureshi, son of Ilyas Qureshi, is survived by his family in Bhogal. His body has been sent for post-mortem examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
