Kochi: Police have registered a case against select YouTube channels for allegedly disseminating videos containing obscene conversations about actor and director Balachandra Menon. The Kochi Cyber Police initiated this action under the IT Act following a complaint filed by Menon. The complaint, submitted to the Director General of Police (DGP) by Menon, states that attempts were made to defame him through social media.

The YouTube channels aired the video titled "Revelations of a Resident of Aluva."

Earlier, the actress who made remarks in the video had filed sexual harassment complaints against actors Mukesh, Jayasurya, Maniyanpilla Raju, and Edavela Babu. Following this, legal action was taken against the actors. The recent broadcasts by the YouTube channels featured some of the actress's responses, which included comments directed at Menon.

Menon's complaint alleges that these comments were not only defamatory but also intended to intimidate him. He also mentioned that some individuals connected to the actress threatened him over the phone. Menon has lodged a complaint with the DGP against both the actress and her lawyer.

The Cyber Police have informed that they will review the content of the YouTube channels and take further action. The case has been filed under the IT Act, and the police will also investigate whether the actress attempted to intimidate Menon.
