Art director Anand Sai’s son arrested in Hyderabad fatal hit-and-run case

Hyderabad: Raidurgam Police have arrested Sandeep, son of prominent art director Anand Sai, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run case near ORR Rotary in Hyderabad.

The accident, which unfolded in the early hours of August 31, involved multiple vehicles and left a pedestrian dead while a 21-year-old Innova driver suffered serious injuries.

According to police, the pedestrian was initially hit by an Innova Crysta on the road connecting Nanakramguda ORR Rotary and Khajaguda, opposite Ankura Hospital, at around 4.15 am.

As the injured man was being taken to hospital, two cars allegedly speeding towards Nanakramguda ORR Rotary from the Khajaguda side hit him again. The vehicles also struck the Innova driver, who was at the spot, before fleeing, police said.

The pedestrian died at the scene due to severe injuries.

The Innova driver, identified as Zaydshah Kadri, 21, suffered a fracture to his right leg and other injuries. He was shifted to CARE Hospitals in Gachibowli for treatment.

Police have identified Sandeep as an accused in the case and taken him into custody. His Mahindra XUV electric vehicle has also been seized.

The investigation is underway.
