Protests continued across parts of Manipur after the alleged abduction of six civilians by suspected Kuki militants. On Tuesday, hundreds of protesters from the Liangmei Naga, Meitei, and Nepali communities in the Kanglatongbi area of Imphal West took out a massive rally, urging both the state and Central governments to take immediate action to rescue the missing people, who have reportedly been untraceable since May 13.

The demonstrations come amid heightened tensions in the region following the hostage crisis involving around 38 people from the Kuki and Naga communities in Kangpokpi and Senapati districts. Authorities confirmed that 32 of those held captive by armed groups were released on May 14 and 15, while concerns continue to grow over the safety of the remaining missing civilians.
