Kerala’s Onam flower markets bloom as supply worries push up prices

Vendors from Tamil Nadu, who supply flowers to Kerala every year, say low rainfall has affected flower production this season. Customers, meanwhile, say recent floods have also disrupted supplies and contributed to higher prices.

With Onam just around the corner, vendors expect demand for flowers to rise further in the coming days. From bustling roadside stalls to colourful pookalams, the festive spirit of Onam is already beginning to take shape across Kerala.
