Makar Sankranti marvel: Udaipur’s Iqbal Sakka makes World’s tiniest gold kites

Udaipur: This Makar Sankranti, Udaipur has added a glittering feather to its cultural cap with what are being called the world’s smallest kites, so tiny they resemble specks of gold dust.

Renowned micro-art craftsman Dr. Iqbal Sakka claims to have created 75 miniature kites made of gold in just 75 hours. The feat has been recorded as his 75th world record in the Hindustan Book of Records.

Iqbal Sakka, a micro-artist, says that, “For the joyous occasion of Makar Sakranti festival, I have created the world's smallest 75 kites in 75 hours, which has been recorded as the 75th world record in the Hindustan Book of Records. They are so small that if you try to see with your eyes you will think it is gold dust. But if you see through a lens, it has stick, tassel, kabani, colour and everything else will be visible.”

Dr. Sakka is well-known for his remarkable gold and silver micro-sculptures, which set multiple world records. His creations, which combine tradition with astounding accuracy, continue to showcase India's rich legacy of exquisite craftsmanship.
