Karur stampede first anniversary: Minister Nirmal Kumar pays tribute to 41 victims

Madurai: Tamil Nadu Energy and Law Minister C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar on Sunday paid tribute to the 41 people who lost their lives in the Karur stampede, marking the first anniversary of the tragedy.

The minister lit candles in memory of the victims at the Tirupparankundram MLA office in Thirunagar, Madurai.

TVK functionaries also took part in the memorial event and paid their respects to those who lost their lives.
The stampede occurred on September 27, 2025, during a TVK political rally at Velusamypuram in Karur and claimed 41 lives.
