Just days before the first-ever India–Pakistan Asia Cup final, the build-up has been overshadowed by disciplinary actions and selection calls.

Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has been fined 30% of his match fee after dedicating India’s victory over Pakistan to the Indian Armed Forces and the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. The ICC termed his remarks as “political.” However, the BCCI has lodged an appeal, contesting the decision.

Pakistan too has found itself under the scanner. Fast bowler Haris Rauf has been fined 30% of his match fee for aggressive on-field behaviour during the Super Four clash. Meanwhile, Sahibzada Farhan escaped with a warning after his gunshot-style celebration on reaching his half-century was deemed inappropriate.
