Furfura Sharif cleric urges Muslims to follow cow slaughter ban during sacrifice
Hooghly, West Bengal: Senior Pirzada of Furfura Sharif, Toha Siddiqui, reacting to the state government’s public notice under the West Bengal Animal Slaughter Control Act, 1950, said, “Everyone should obey the law against cow slaughter. Cows should not be slaughtered during sacrifice. However, the law should be the same everywhere. While cow slaughter is prohibited during sacrifice, on the other hand, cows are slaughtered in various parts of the country and their meat is being exported abroad in large quantities. Cow slaughter is also taking place in other states, except Bengal. This should also be stopped,” he said.
