Ethiopian woman wows Delhi with fluent Hindi at BRICS Bazaar

New Delhi: An Ethiopian woman who has made India her home after marrying an Indian became a talking point at the BRICS Bazaar in Delhi, thanks to her fluent Hindi.

Feven Merid, who has been living in India for 10 to 15 years, attracted visitors at the Ethiopian stall, which featured handcrafted fabrics, earthenware and Ethiopian coffee.

Speaking in Hindi, Feven said India has a special place in her life, describing it as her “in-laws’ home”. She also expressed hope that the close ties between India and Ethiopia would continue to grow.

Held from September 10 to 15 in Delhi, the BRICS Bazaar showcased handicrafts, handlooms and artworks from BRICS member and partner countries alongside the 18th BRICS Summit.
