A safe beginning: Five rescued baby orangutans welcomed at Nandankanan Zoo
Bbhubaneswar: Five baby orangutans rescued from the Balasore forest made a safe arrival at the Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
The young primates were brought directly to the zoo earlier on Wednesday, where they were immediately handed over to a team of veterinary doctors and wildlife officials for an initial health assessment.
Given their tender age, the infants have been placed in specialised care at the zoo's Centre for Rearing Animal Babies (CRAB). The facility is fully equipped to hand-rear orphaned and rescued animals, providing around-the-clock monitoring, tailored nutrition and nursery support to ensure their health and development.
Zoo authorities confirmed that the infants are being kept under close observation to help them acclimate to their new environment following the rescue.
