SIT summons Idavela Babu for interrogation again; Babu says it is only a casual meeting

Kochi: Actor Idavela Babu, former General Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Actors (AMMA), appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing cases in connection with the Hema Committee Report on Friday. This is in connection with the complaint lodged by an actress from Aluva, which is why he is being summoned for detailed interrogation. This is the second time Babu is being summoned by the team.

Earlier, when he was called by the SIT, his arrest was recorded, and he was released on bail. During the first interrogation, a medical check-up was also conducted. The SIT summoned him to Aluva on Friday to collect more details regarding the case.

When asked by the media about his visit, Babu responded that it is only a casual meeting.

The actress from Aluva lodged a complaint that Babu had sexually abused her at a flat owned by him. She was called to his apartment in connection with an application she had submitted to obtain membership in AMMA.
