Pa Ranjith’s ‘Vettuvam’ gives glimpse into its three-timeline world | WATCH

Pa. Ranjith’s ‘Vettuvam’ has finally offered a closer look at the world of the film. Titled World of Vettuvam, the newly released glimpse introduces the characters, setting and the central conflict of the upcoming action drama.

The film, which stars Arya, VR Dinesh and Sobhita Dhulipala in key roles, is set across three different periods, connecting the past, present and future. The glimpse hints at a story driven by power struggles, survival and the consequences of destruction.

Vettuvam marks Pa. Ranjith’s reunion with Arya after ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’. VR Dinesh, who previously worked with the filmmaker in Attakathi, plays one of the central characters, while Sobhita Dhulipala returns to Tamil cinema after her appearances in the ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ films.

The ensemble also includes Kalaiyarasan, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Mime Gopi, Guru Somasundaram, John Vijay, Sai Dheena, Harish Uthaman and Lizzy, among others.

One of the highlights of the glimpse is its action, which draws from traditional Indian martial arts. The actors underwent training for the action portions, with the film incorporating forms such as Adi Murai and Mallakhamba.

The glimpse also introduces a major competition during the Indra Vizha, where different groups appear to be fighting for power and leadership.

Five-language release in December

Vettuvam is backed by Pa. Ranjith’s Neelam Productions and Learn & Teach Productions. GV Prakash Kumar has composed the music, while Roopesh Shaji handles cinematography, Selva RK is the editor, SS Murthi is the art director and Dhilip Subbarayan has choreographed the action.

The film is scheduled to release in December 2026 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.
