Mumbai: Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor says filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the reason he understands acting, calling him the man who “seeded” everything he knows about cinema.

Kapoor, who made his debut in Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’ (2007), is collaborating with the director again after 18 years in the upcoming epic drama ‘Love & War’.

The film, slated to release on March 20, 2026, features Kapoor alongside his wife Alia Bhatt and actor Vicky Kaushal.

Speaking during a live session on his brand ARKS’ Instagram account on Sunday, his 43rd birthday, Kapoor said:

“Love & War is directed by the man who taught me everything about cinema. Whatever I know about acting was seeded in by him, and he was a master then. I’m working with him 18 years later, and he’s an even bigger master today. So I’m very happy with that collaboration.”

Calling his co-stars his “favourite actors,” Kapoor added that sharing screen space with Bhatt and Kaushal makes the project even more special.

The film marks Vicky Kaushal’s first collaboration with Bhansali, while Alia Bhatt reunites with the filmmaker after her acclaimed performance in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ (2022), where she played the titular mafia queen of Kamathipura.
