‘I know someone did it’: Parag Tyagi claims ‘black magic’ behind Shefali Jariwala’s death

Actor Parag Tyagi has stirred strong reactions after claiming that “black magic” may have played a role in the untimely death of his wife, actor Shefali Jariwala, who passed away in June 2025. 

Speaking candidly on a podcast hosted by Paras Chhabra, Tyagi said his belief is rooted in personal experiences and recurring feelings of unease rather than speculation.

He shared that, in the months before Jariwala’s death, he repeatedly sensed that “something wasn’t right,” describing the atmosphere around her as unusually heavy.

Tyagi explained that he is a firm believer in spiritual forces, stating that just as faith and divinity exist, so do negative energies.

According to him, his concern wasn’t a one-off instinct but a recurring sensation that intensified over time. He recalled that on an earlier occasion, the situation seemed to pass, but the second time felt far more overwhelming.

The actor also spoke about moments during prayer when his discomfort grew stronger. He claimed he could sense a disturbance even without words, adding that this led him to increase the duration and intensity of his prayers.
While Tyagi did not name or accuse anyone, he insisted he is convinced that some external negative influence was involved.

Jariwala, who rose to national fame with the iconic music video ‘Kaanta Laga’ and later appeared in television and reality shows, died unexpectedly at the age of 42. Her sudden passing had shocked fans and colleagues across the entertainment industry.

Tyagi’s remarks have sparked debate online, with many expressing sympathy for his grief while others urging caution against concluding without medical or official confirmation.
