Could ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ be coming back for another season? The Netflix show, which arrived in 2025, is reportedly being discussed for a second season, with Netflix and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment in talks.

The update comes from writer Bilal Siddiqi, who co-wrote the first season with Aryan Khan and Manav Chauhan.

In an interview with NDTV, Siddiqi suggested that discussions around another season are underway, although there is no official green light yet.

“I hope so too. Red Chillies and Netflix are talking, so there are things they want to speak about first. You know how it is. I hope so too. It’s very exciting. We pulled off a great season one and we will be happy to do it another time,” he said.

The first season became one of Netflix India’s most talked-about releases of 2025. The seven-part series took a tongue-in-cheek look at the Hindi film industry, poking fun at its stars, power games, fame and behind-the-scenes drama.

Lakshya led the cast, with Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal and Sahher Bambba also playing key roles. The show also became a talking point for its long list of celebrity appearances and references to Bollywood culture.

Its popularity extended beyond India as well, with the series making it into Netflix’s global Top 10 rankings.

Bilal Siddiqi on working with Aryan Khan

Siddiqi also spoke about his experience working with Aryan on the series. The writer said their creative partnership worked largely because the three writers had similar tastes when it came to films and comedy.

According to him, Aryan, Manav and he had already spent years discussing stories and cinema, which made the writing process smoother. He also praised Aryan’s understanding of humour and his awareness of how people respond to the things he creates.

“I think he’s got his head on his shoulders. He is extremely aware of what is being said around and he’s got a great sense of humour. I think our sense of humour aligned. The way that we wanted to tell the story was also… We were never in disagreement about anything, which is why I think that healthy partnership shows on the screen,” Siddiqi said.

For Aryan, the series marked his first major step behind the camera. Rather than taking the traditional route of making a straightforward Bollywood drama, he chose to build a satirical story around the industry he grew up around.

Rajat Bedi’s comeback also got attention

Another name that benefited from the series was actor Rajat Bedi. After spending several years away from the mainstream Hindi film spotlight, Bedi returned with a prominent role in ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’.

His appearance was noticed by viewers who remembered his earlier work in Hindi cinema. The series gave him a sizeable part within its large ensemble and introduced him to a new generation of streaming audiences.
