What happened that made K-pop star Jackson Wang say ‘Maybe this is my last visit to India’?

K-pop star Jackson Wang made a brief but memorable appearance on the latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show, leaving fans both entertained and concerned with one emotional remark, that this might be his last visit to India. The singer-rapper’s surprising statement came during a light-hearted conversation with Kapil Sharma but quickly became the talking point of the episode.
The fourth episode of the Netflix comedy talk show’s third season aired on Saturday and featured popular OTT actors Vijay Varma, Jaideep Ahlawat, Pratik Gandhi and Jitendra Kumar, who shared behind-the-scenes stories from their journey to stardom. But it was Wang’s candid moment that turned heads and stirred online chatter.
The club incident
Kapil Sharma welcomed Jackson Wang on stage towards the end of the episode. The atmosphere instantly turned electric, but the cheer was soon matched with a tone of emotional honesty from the GOT7 member.
Kapil asked Jackson about his Indian fanbase, claiming that girls across the country were obsessed with him. But Jackson countered the claim with a personal anecdote. “Never,” he replied when told about his growing popularity. Asked why, he explained, “I’m coming to India for the second time. And on this trip, I went to three clubs.”
Describing his experience, Jackson shared, “I walk and they look through me.” He also said that fans only ever approached him to request autographs for their friends and never for themselves. This led him to jokingly declare, “So, maybe this is my last visit to India. I am so sad.”
Kapil, refusing to accept this, playfully suggested maybe the club was too dark for people to notice him. But Wang cheekily responded, “No, I'm pretty white. You people can see me.”
In an effort to lift the K-pop idol’s spirits, Kapil turned to the audience and asked all Jackson Wang fans to raise their hands. In response, nearly every hand in the studio went up. Jackson, however, still looked unconvinced and teased, “Very good actors.”
Lighting up the stage with dance
After the unexpected confession, Jackson quickly turned the mood around by joining Kapil and the other guests for a lively dance performance. He even learned a few desi moves, from garba to bhangra, and made the set come alive with his energy. When Pratik Gandhi recognised one of the steps and shouted, “Arey, ye to Garba hai!” it left the entire cast and crew in splits.
Jackson’s effortless stage presence and willingness to engage with Indian culture brought an upbeat finish to his appearance.
Kapil also brought up Jackson’s much-publicised friendship with Bollywood actor Disha Patani. Referring to his previous visit when the two rode a chariot together, Kapil teasingly asked if they were “just friends or more.” Jackson smiled and replied, “Only friends.”
Jackson Wang had recently been in India as part of a short tour promoting his single ‘BUCK’. During this visit, he dined with Hrithik Roshan and his family, made surprise club visits and appeared on The Great Indian Kapil Show. He even performed a few lines from his track ‘GBAD’ during the episode.
Wang, a core member of the K-pop group GOT7, has successfully carved a path as a solo artist, collaborating with global names like Galantis, Rich Brian, and more recently, Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh.
