‘We’ve been living together for 5 years’: Actress Anju Aravind talks love, two failed marriages

Actress Anju Aravind, known for her roles alongside South Indian superstars like Mohanlal, Mammootty, and Rajinikanth, recently opened up about her personal life in a candid interview with Aval Vikatan. A familiar face to the Malayali audience and a talented dancer-turned-actor, Anju shared details about her relationships, past marriages, and current live-in partner.
The actress revealed that while she had tried marriage twice, both relationships ended in tragedy. Her first marriage ended in divorce, and her second husband passed away soon after their wedding.
Currently, Anju has been in a live-in relationship for the past five years with Sanjay Ambala Parambath. “I am currently in a live-in relationship. My partner’s name is Sanjay Ambala Parambath. We’ve been living together happily for the past five years. He is the one who gave me my identity as a dance teacher in Bengaluru. Sanjay was my first crush, back when I was in Class 8. Our story could be made into a movie,” she said. She credits him with giving her a renewed identity as a dance teacher in Bengaluru and even naming her dance academy, the Anju Aravind Academy of Dance.
The couple shares a love for the Tamil film 96, which brought back school memories for Anju. “We first met at a dance class, but lost touch since there were no mobile phones back then. Life brought us back together,” she added. Sanjay, a dancer himself and a retired IT professional, has been a constant support in her life.
Anju Aravind also spoke fondly of her daughter Anvika, who is currently in Class 11.
Anju made her acting debut in Sibi Malayil’s Aksharam. Some of her iconic films include Azhakiya Ravanan, Sidhartha, Naran, Arunachalam, Poove Unakkaga, Janumadatha and Swapna Lokathe Balabhaskaran, carving a niche for herself across Malayalam, Tamil, and Kannada cinema.
