Kochi: Expressing strong confidence in Shwetha Menon’s leadership, her husband Sreevalsan Menon said that the film actors association AMMA (Association of Malayalam Movie Artists) has, by all means, received an excellent president in her. He said Shwetha is an efficient organiser, a person with leadership qualities and someone capable of bringing everyone together.

Sreevalsan added that the case filed against Shwetha during the AMMA elections deeply upset the family.

“AMMA's public image is extremely poor. At such a time, the presence of a woman was very necessary. Senior actors themselves said that it’s time for a woman to take charge and bring about change. From an outsider’s perspective, I believe this change will help improve that tarnished image,” Sreevalsan told Mathrubhumi News.

“We hope Shwetha will become a unifying factor. She possesses strong leadership qualities and is an excellent organiser. In every way, a very good president has been chosen,” he said.

“Our family felt the case was filed with the intention of demoralising Shwetha. It caused us huge distress. We were worried about how our daughter would handle it... the allegations were extremely unpleasant. Fortunately, the law was on our side. We feared that Shwetha would be mentally affected, but she stood strong. The industry, the media, and the general public all extended their support. This is also an opportunity to thank everyone,” Sreevalsan added.
