Vineeth Sreenivasan recalls meeting ‘Naatu Naatu’ composer Keeravani

Cheers are still on celebrating RRR's historic win at the Golden Globe Awards. Numerous stars, across various film industries in the country, have lauded director SS Rajamouli and composer MM Keeravani as ‘Naatu Naatu’ bagged the award for the Best Original Score.

Adding to the list of celebrities, Malayalam filmmaker-actor-singer Vineeth Sreenivasan on Thursday took to social media to share his first meeting with the ace composer.

Taking to Facebook, Vineeth wrote, “A few years back, in the apartment right opposite to mine, lived a husband and a wife. They were really nice people, very humble and grounded. Husband was a Thalassery-kkaran and wife was from Andhra. Whenever we met, we had some good conversations.

Then one day when I was driving back to my apartment after a day’s work, I saw this chechi walking in with a middle aged man. After parking the car I went to them, we exchanged smiles and she introduced him saying ’Vineeth, this is my brother’.

Graciously he turned towards me and said his name.I literally had shivers when I heard the name. And that man whom I met in the parking lot on a regular day won the golden globe yesterday for his immensely celebrated song from 2022. MM Keeravani!!!”

'Naatu Naatu' a dance number featuring stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan was pitted against Taylor Swift's 'Carolina' from Where the Crawdads Sing, 'Ciao Papa' from Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio, Lady Gaga's 'Hold My Hand' from Top Gun: Maverick, and 'Lift Me U' from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, performed by Rihanna.

Naatu Naatu was shot in Ukraine over a period of 20 days. It took 43 retakes before the final cut of the song was approved.

This lyrical composition of 'Naatu Naatu' by Keeravani, high energy rendition by singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, unique choreography by Prem Rakshith, and lyrics by Chandrabose are all the elements that make this 'RRR' mass anthem a perfect dance craze.

The song was also released in Hindi as 'Naacho Naacho', in Tamil as 'Naattu Koothu', in Kannada as 'Halli Naatu' and in Malayalam as 'Karinthol'. Its Hindi version was sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Vishal Mishra.
