‘I worry about by 9-month-old son’s safety’: Vikrant Massey receives death threats

Actor Vikrant Massey, who is gearing up for the release of his new historical drama 'The Sabarmati Report', has revealed that he and his family have been receiving threatening messages following the trailer launch. The film, which delves into the 2002 Godhra train burning incident, is set for theatrical release on November 15, 2024.
According to Pinkvilla, Massey shared his concern over the threats in an interview, explaining that his social media and WhatsApp accounts have been flooded with abusive messages. The actor also disclosed that his infant son, Vardaan, who is just nine months old, has been named in these disturbing threats.
“These people know I have a son who is 9 months old. I have recently become a father to a child who can’t even walk yet. They are dragging his name and I am worried about his safety. What society are we living in?” Massey said.
Despite the gravity of the situation, the actor made it clear that he does not feel fear, though he is deeply disappointed by the actions of those targeting his family. “I don’t fear but feel sorry about such a situation,” he added, highlighting the distress caused by the threats. He further expressed that had he and the team been afraid, they would have pulled the film from release.
Massey also emphasized the film’s rootedness in real events, noting that the entire team is handling the situation together. “But as artists, our role is to tell stories, and this film is rooted in facts. I’m dealing with it, or rather, we as a team are collectively managing it, and we’ll handle it appropriately,” he said.
Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, 'The Sabarmati Report' stars Raashii Khanna, Ridhi Dogra, and Barkha Singh in prominent roles. Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and Vikir Films, the film aims to bring the truth of the 2002 Godhra tragedy to the forefront. The movie hit the silver screens on November 15, 2024.
