Another step towards political entry? Vijay Makkal Iyakkam to set up libraries across Tamil Nadu

Chennai: Actor Vijay has decided to set up libraries in the 234 assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu. The libraries will be run under the supervision of the members of his fans association named Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. The association office-bearers informed that books have been purchased; the libraries will be thrown open to the public soon. 

Earlier, the group had established free tuition centres and clinics in the assembly constituencies as well. A few months ago, Vijay felicitated class 10 and class 12 toppers in the state by giving them cash awards.

During the successful celebration of his recent blockbuster Leo, Vijay, who is popularly known as 'Ilayathalapathy' gave a strong indication of his political entry in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections in 2026. Booth-level committees will be constituted for the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam in the near future.
