Malayalam cinema icon Urvashi to receive Sathyan Film Award

Thiruvananthapuram: National Award-winning Malayalam actress Urvashi is set to receive the Sathyan Film Award from the Kerala Cultural Forum in recognition of her outstanding contributions to Malayalam cinema. The award carries a cash prize of ₹50,000 along with a citation. Over the years, Urvashi has effortlessly carved her place in Indian cinema, earning a reputation for delivering performances that are uniquely her own, a distinction that has made her a celebrated brand in Malayalam films.

A jury comprising film directors PT Kunju Muhammed, R Sarath and Kaladharan chose Urvashi for the honour. The award will be presented at a ceremony at Tagore Theatre on November 9, coinciding with the birth anniversary of actor Sathyan.
