Did Trisha attend Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' opening show? Here's what reports say

The buzz around Trisha Krishnan and Vijay’s alleged bond has found a fresh talking point, with reports claiming that the actress is set to watch the first-day first show of his much-awaited film 'Jana Nayagan' in a Chennai theatre.

According to the reports, Trisha is expected to attend the 9 am show on July 23, today. 

Neither Trisha nor Vijay has publicly confirmed the rumours.

Trisha and Vijay’s long history on screen

Trisha and Vijay’s association dates back to ‘Ghilli’, which released in 2004. The two actors later shared screen space in ‘Thirupaachi’, ‘Aathi’ and ‘Kuruvi’. Their most recent full-fledged collaboration was Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Leo’, released in 2023.

Trisha also made a cameo appearance in Vijay’s ‘The Greatest of All Time’, further keeping their professional association in the spotlight.

With the actress now reportedly planning to watch 'Jana Nayagan's opening show, attention has once again shifted to the two stars and their recent appearances together.

Vijay’s new title card in 'Jana Nayagan'

Another detail garnering massive crowd-craze is the reported change in Vijay’s title card in the film. According to sources, the title card reads “The Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu – Thalapathy C Joseph Vijay” instead of “Thalapathy Vijay”.

The reported change comes after Vijay officially assumed the role of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister. The latest CBFC update also indicates that the film was re-certified after additional footage was added.

The film’s runtime now stands at 3 hours, 3 minutes and 52 seconds. Sources have linked the increase to the inclusion of the new title card, although KVN Productions has not officially commented on the change.

Can 'Jana Nayagan' surpass ‘Leo’ and ‘GOAT’?

'Jana Nayagan' enters theatres with the added weight of being promoted as Vijay’s final film as a lead actor. The film is releasing in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, while advance sales have already generated significant interest across India and overseas markets.

The film will now be measured against Vijay’s recent box office benchmarks, with ‘Leo’ having collected around ₹606 crore worldwide and ‘GOAT’ earning approximately ₹458 crore, according to industry estimates.
