‘Toy Story 5’ teaser out: Pixar’s beloved toys return to screens in June 2026 | WATCH

Washington: The makers of the iconic Toy Story franchise have unveiled the teaser for its fifth instalment, set to hit cinemas worldwide on 19 June 2026.
According to a press release quoted by Variety, the teaser introduces a new character named Lilypad — “a high-tech, frog-shaped smart tablet that makes Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs exponentially harder when they go head to head with the all-new threat to playtime.”
Actor Greta Lee joins the voice cast as Lilypad, while long-time favourites Tom Hanks and Tim Allen return as Woody and Buzz Lightyear. Joan Cusack reprises her role as Jessie, alongside Blake Clark as Slinky Dog and Tony Hale as Forky. Late-night host Conan O’Brien also joins the line-up as a new character named Smarty Pants.
Pixar shared the teaser on its official Instagram handle, giving fans their first glimpse of the latest adventure.
The film will be directed by Andrew Stanton, known for Finding Nemo, Wall-E and Finding Dory. Stanton, who co-wrote all four previous Toy Story films, is credited as the sole screenwriter for Toy Story 5.
The first Toy Story film, released in 1995, made history as the world’s first fully computer-animated feature. Distributed by Disney, it was followed by Toy Story 2 in 1999 before Disney acquired Pixar in 2006. The franchise returned with Toy Story 3 in 2010 and Toy Story 4 in 2019 — both crossing the $1 billion mark at the global box office and winning Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature.
Toy Story 5 will be Pixar’s 31st feature film. The studio’s most recent release, Elio (June 2024), earned $152 million globally, while Inside Out 2 became the highest-grossing film of 2024, surpassing $1.5 billion worldwide.
Before Toy Story 5, Pixar will release its next original feature, Hoppers, in March 2026.
