Yash’s ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ has become one of the most talked-about Indian films following the release of its trailer on August 8. Beyond its dark visuals, mysterious characters and sprawling crime-world setting, the Geetu Mohandas directorial has also attracted attention over reports of the hefty fees allegedly commanded by its star-studded cast. 

Headlined by Yash, the film brings together Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Rukmini Vasanth, Huma Qureshi and Tara Sutaria. While reported remuneration figures have circulated widely, it is important to note that the amounts have not been officially confirmed by the actors or the production team.

Yash reportedly takes home around Rs 50 crore

According to a report by Hauterrfly, Yash is believed to be the highest-paid actor in ‘Toxic’, with reports placing his remuneration at nearly Rs 50 crore. The figure is particularly notable given the actor's multiple responsibilities on the project.

The ‘KGF’ star plays Raya, a central figure in the film's crime-driven narrative. In addition to acting, Yash has also contributed to the screenplay alongside Geetu Mohandas and is associated with the film as a producer.

The reported fee comes as anticipation builds around his return to cinemas after the ‘KGF’ franchise. The trailer presents Yash in an intense and unpredictable avatar, while also appearing to hint at a dual-role angle involving two brothers.

Kiara Advani reportedly earns Rs 15 crore

Kiara Advani is reportedly being paid around Rs 15 crore for her role in ‘Toxic’. If the reported figure is accurate, it would make her one of the highest-paid female actors on the project.

Advani plays Nadia and is prominently featured in the trailer as a circus performer. Her character appears to have a complicated relationship with Yash's character, although the preview deliberately leaves the nature of their connection open to interpretation.

Nayanthara's reported fee ranges from Rs 12 crore to Rs 18 crore

Nayanthara is also believed to have secured a substantial remuneration for the film. Reports suggest that the actor's fee could be between Rs 12 crore and Rs 18 crore.

She plays Ganga, a character who has already generated interest following the trailer. Nayanthara is seen in a striking action-oriented avatar, including sequences in which she handles firearms.

Huma Qureshi, who reportedly portrays Elizabeth, is said to be receiving between Rs 2 crore and Rs 3 crore. Her character appears to be connected to the film's broader network of crime and power.

Tara Sutaria, reportedly playing Rebecca, is also believed to have been paid between Rs 2 crore and Rs 3 crore. The trailer presents her character as part of the film's glamorous but dangerous world.

What does the ‘Toxic’ trailer reveal?

One of its biggest mysteries surrounds Yash's characters. The preview appears to introduce two men who look different, leading to speculation that the actor could be portraying two brothers. One is shown with long, untidy hair, while the other has shorter hair and a beard.

‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ is set in post-colonial Goa and appears to explore a world shaped by organised crime, influence and shifting loyalties.

The trailer moves through a range of contrasting settings and images, including circus performances, snowy landscapes, fire and violent confrontations. Rather than offering a straightforward account of the plot, the preview uses fragmented glimpses to build an atmosphere of mystery.

The film has reportedly been shot in Kannada and English and is expected to be released in dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. The multilingual release could allow the film to reach audiences across several major Indian markets.
