Goa: Tovino Thomas–starrer ‘Ajayante Randam Moshanam’ (ARM) has been selected to compete at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), set to be held in Goa this November.

The film, directed by debutant Jithin Lal, will feature in the Indian Panorama section under the category for debut directors’ feature films. Notably, ‘ARM’ is the only Malayalam film among the five Indian titles chosen for this competition.

Released last year, the fantasy adventure thriller was both a critical and commercial success, earning blockbuster status at the box office. The 56th edition of IFFI will take place in Goa from 20 November.

ARM also bagged three Kerala State Film Awards earlier this year. Director Jithin Lal, along with Alfred Tommy, Anirudh Mukherjee and Saalim Lahir, was recognised for the film’s visual effects. Lead actor Tovino Thomas received a Special Jury Mention for Best Actor, while KS Harishankar won Best Male Playback Singer for the song ‘Kiliye’.

Tovino, who portrayed three distinct characters in the film, was lauded for one of his finest performances to date. Produced by Listin Stephen under the Magic Frames banner in association with Zachariah Thomas of UGM Entertainment, the film crossed the ₹100-crore mark at the box office.

Written by Sujith Nambiar, ‘ARM’ also features Krithi Shetty, Harish Uthaman, Basil Joseph, Surabhi Lakshmi, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aju Varghese and Jagadish.
