In a recent chat with the Magic Moments YouTube channel, former cricketer and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu shared a memorable early-career interaction with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. The encounter took place in Lucknow following a cricket match, where Sidhu recalled meeting a young SRK, who at the time was best known for his roles in television serials like Fauji and Circus. Sidhu noted that SRK was starstruck by him as a cricketer, but he returned the admiration by expressing his appreciation for SRK’s television work.

During their conversation, SRK revealed his intention to move to Bollywood. Sidhu admitted to discouraging him, citing the brutal nature of the film industry. He warned SRK that without strong backing, survival in Bollywood would be difficult, especially as his parents were no longer alive. Sidhu even used the phrase, “They will eat you like a sausage for breakfast,” to describe the cutthroat competition.

However, SRK remained unfazed. Sidhu recalled SRK’s confident but humble reply: “Sidhu saab, I don’t compete with anyone. I am my own competition.” Sidhu praised the actor for his grace, stating that even after all these years, Shah Rukh Khan has remained just as polite and grounded. (With inputs from Agencies)
