In an interview with ETimes, Dulquer Salmaan shared his thoughts on his favorite film from his father Mammootty’s vast repertoire, admitting it was a difficult choice. "It's incredibly hard to choose a favorite from Vappachi’s [Mammootty's] films. There are so many amazing ones, and picking just one is not easy," he explained.

However, Dulquer expressed particular admiration for Mammootty’s iconic 1987 film, Thaniyavarthanam, a masterpiece written by A. K. Lohithadas and directed by Sibi Malayil. In the film, Mammootty portrays Balagopalan, a school teacher, alongside a stellar cast that includes Thilakan, Kaviyoor Ponnamma, Saritha, and Mukesh.

The young actor opened up about the profound emotional impact the film had on him. "Watching Thaniyavarthanam always fills me with immense sorrow. There has been no film like it before, and nothing after it has had the same effect. That’s the truth," he shared, underscoring the film’s unique and poignant nature.

Meanwhile, Dulquer’s latest release, Lucky Baskhar, is currently running successfully in theaters. (With inputs from Agencies)
