Answering a question that had lingered in the air for quite some time, Tejalakshmi (fondly known as Kunjatta), daughter of two of Malayalam cinema's most revered artists—Manoj K Jayan and Urvashi, is all set to step into the world of Malayalam films.

The young talent follows in the footsteps of her illustrious parents, both of whom have left an indelible mark through decades of memorable performances across Malayalam and other Indian languages.

The announcement of her debut was made at a press conference held on 11 June at Crowne Plaza, Ernakulam, by the team behind the upcoming film ‘Sundariyayaval Stella,’ produced under the banner of  Ikka Productions. The film, produced by Mohammed Sali and helmed by debutant writer-director Binu Peter, will mark Tejalakshmi's official entry into cinema.

She will play the titular role of Stella, taking on the film's female lead. Sarjano Khalid will appear opposite her as the male lead, with several other popular Malayalam actors also in the cast.

Filming for ‘Sundariyayaval Stella’ will commence shortly in and around Ernakulam.

The film boasts a talented crew behind the scenes. Alex E. Kurien serves as the line producer, while Anurodh Aneesh handles cinematography. Music is composed by Sreenath Sivasankaran, with editing by Sagar Das.

Iqbal Panayikkulam takes charge as the production controller, and the art direction is led by Sajeesh Thamarassery.

The make-up department is managed by Libin Mohanan, and costume design is helmed by Sameera Saneesh.

Kudamaloor Rajaji is the chief associate director, with design by Collins Leophil. The film’s public relations are overseen by Athira Diljith.
