Suresh Gopi joins 'Gaganachari' universe as 'Maniyan Chittappan'; first look poster out

Following the success of the dystopian film "Gaganachari", the makers have announced their next venture titled "Maniyan Chittappan", starring actor Suresh Gopi in the lead role.

Directed by Arun Chandu, "Gaganachari" received positive reviews from both critics and audiences shortly after its release. Interestingly, the makers have revealed that "Maniyan Chittappan" will exist within the same dystopian universe as "Gaganachari".

A first-look poster featuring Suresh Gopi in a role unlike any he has played in recent years has been unveiled by the makers on Thursday.

In a recent interview with Mathrubhumi English, director Arun Chandu hinted at his collaboration with actor Suresh Gopi for the upcoming project. He described "Maniyan Chittappan" as a significant endeavour, with Gopi's character being a mad scientist akin to a blend of characters from "Manu Uncle" and the animated series parody "Rick and Morty".

"Gaganachari", released on June 21, earned Rs 4 Lakh on its opening day, has casted Anarkali Marikar, Gokul Suresh, Aju Varghese and K B Ganesh Kumar in pivotal roles. The film, set in a dystopian alien world, has garnered positive responses from theatres and was showcased at several international film festivals, including the New York Film Awards and the Los Angeles Film Awards, where it received recognition for Best Picture and Best Visual Effects.

Produced by Ajith Vinayak under Ajith Vinayaka Films, "Gaganachari" has been supported by executive producer Krishand, known for films such as 'Aavasavyuham' and 'Purusha Pretham'. The screenplay was crafted by Siva Sai and Arun Chandu.

While the movie genre may not appeal to every viewer, the film has proven itself as a worthy cinematic experience, amassing Rs 45 Lakh in gross collections worldwide and India over its opening weekend, with Rs 12 Lakh and Rs 24 Lakh collected on the opening weekends.
