‘My Govinda is only mine’: Sunita Ahuja shuts down divorce rumours

Mumbai: Amid swirling rumours of a divorce from her husband, actor Govinda, Sunita Ahuja has come forward to firmly deny any such developments, calling the speculation baseless and emotionally charged.

Addressing the controversy, Sunita said, "If something had happened, then we would have been so close today? There would have been a distance between us. No one can separate us, not even if God comes from above... My Govinda is only mine and no one else's. Until we open our mouths, please do not say anything on this..."

The couple also made a public appearance together on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi on Wednesday. Dressed in coordinated red outfits, Govinda and Sunita posed happily for the paparazzi outside their residence during the Ganpati celebration.

Earlier, rumours had suggested that Sunita had filed for divorce, sparking concern among fans. However, Govinda’s manager Shashi Sinha clarified the situation in a statement to IANS.

Sinha explained, “No, someone has done this mischief. This is a very old thing. Nothing new. Nothing like the divorce is going to happen. Everything is getting better. Everything is fine. Very soon, everyone will get good news.”

He acknowledged that there had been a case filed in 2024 but confirmed it had been resolved early on.

“It is the same case, but it has been resolved. People find ways to refurbish news from old events. No new development has happened… near about everything is sorted out between the couple. There’s nothing to worry about. We will officially confirm this with a wider media document circulation (sic),” he added.

Taking a firm stance against misleading reports, Sinha said, “Did you see Govinda talking about it? In the film industry and media, people take advantage of confusion and misleading information. There is some bad element or an idiot who is trying to cash in on the controversy.”
