Story of wanted fugitive Dr Omana Edadan, who cut her lover into pieces, to hit big screen

Dr Omana Edadan’s story will soon be seen as a biopic on the big screens. The script of the movie being directed by actor and director Navajith Narayanan is written by Deepak Vijayan. It is said that the movie’s script took almost six years to complete.

The movie will be made in Malayalam and Tamil and will star a leading South Indian actress as Omana.

The filming of the movie will start in January next year. The name of the movie and further details will be announced soon.

Dr Omana, a fugitive wanted by the Tamil Nadu police and Interpol, has been on the run for 20 years now. It has been 26 years since the murder that shook the human conscience took place. Omana murdered her lover Kannur native Muraleedharan on July 11, 1996, at a hotel near Ooty railway station, cut him up into pieces and was caught by police as she was travelling with the dismembered body parts stuffed in a suitcase. She went missing after coming out on bail in 2001. There has been no information on her whereabouts since then.
