Sony LIV’s Marathi original ‘Lampan’ wins 'Best Web Series' award at the 55th IFFI

‘Lampan,’ Sony LIV’s acclaimed Marathi original series, has been awarded Best Web Series (OTT) at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), marking a significant achievement for regional storytelling.
Based on Prakash Narayan Sant’s novel ‘Vanwas,’ the series is directed by Nipun Dharmadhikari and produced by Shrirang Godbole, Hrishikesh Deshpande, Amit Patwardhan, and Chintamani Vartak. ‘Lampan’ stars Geetanjali Kulkarni as Aaji, Chandrakant Kulkarni as Ajoba, Mihir Godbole as the titular character, Kadambari Kadam as Aai, Pushkaraj Chirputkar as Baba, and Avani Bhave as Sumi.
Speaking on the recognition, Dharmadhikari highlighted the universal appeal of the show’s themes. “This recognition is a testament to the timeless charm of Prakash Narayan Sant’s storytelling and the collective effort of an incredible team,” Dharmadhikari said. “With ‘Lampan,’ we wanted to celebrate the innocence of childhood and the beauty of simple joys. Geetanjali Kulkarni, who portrays Aaji, expressed her gratitude for the global recognition.
