Sobhita Dhulipala trolled for ‘copying’ Samantha’s look; but is it true?

Actress Sobhita Dhulipala has landed in controversy after social media users accused her of copying Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s outfit in a Vogue photoshoot. The discussion quickly gained traction, with netizens drawing comparisons between the two actresses' looks and questioning Sobhita’s fashion choices.

In the Vogue shoot, Sobhita donned a stunning silvery slip dress with tassel detailing, which she styled with soft, natural makeup and a relaxed hairstyle. She was paired with Naga Chaitanya, who looked dapper in a navy blue tuxedo with a large flower motif. The couple was captured in a candid dancing moment, radiating chemistry and elegance.

However, some social media users noticed that Sobhita’s dress resembled an outfit previously worn by Samantha. This led to an online uproar, with fans of Samantha calling out Sobhita in the comments section.

One user remarked, "You copied Samantha's dress also."

Another questioned, "This look is Samantha's recent look, right?"

Others took a harsher approach, even calling her "shameless."

Are the Dresses Actually Similar?

At first glance, the two outfits appear alike due to their fringed detailing and dreamy aesthetic. However, a closer examination reveals significant differences. While Sobhita’s slip dress was from Akhl, Samantha’s ensemble featured an ombre-hued tasselled skirt from Studio Moon Ray. Despite these distinctions, the allegations persisted, with many netizens linking the controversy to Sobhita’s relationship with Naga Chaitanya, Samantha’s ex-husband.

The backlash wasn’t just about the dress. Many social media users pointed out the emotional connection fans still hold for Samantha and Chaitanya’s past relationship. Their love story began in 2010 on the sets of 'Ye Maaya Chesave', and after dating for five years, they married in 2017. However, the couple parted ways in 2021, leaving their fans heartbroken.
