‘Param Sundari’ OTT release: Where to watch ‘Thekkepattu Sundari Damodharan Pillai’ and Param’s love story

Bollywood’s love affair with romantic comedies continues with Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor. Directed by Tushar Jalota and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the film was released in cinemas on 29 August 2025 and went on to charm audiences with its classic rom-com flavour.

For those who missed the theatrical run, Param Sundari became available on Amazon Prime Video on 10 October 2025. The film can be rented for Rs 349, giving viewers 30 days to start watching and 48 hours to finish once playback begins.

Set against the scenic backwaters of Kerala, Param Sundari follows the story of Param Sachdev (Sidharth Malhotra), a wealthy Delhi entrepreneur, and Thekkepattu Sundari Damodharan Pillai (Janhvi Kapoor), a spirited Malayali woman he meets through an AI matchmaking app. Their relationship unfolds through playful cultural clashes, heartfelt moments, and miscommunications that test their bond.

The story takes a dramatic turn when Sundari discovers Param’s secret about the matchmaking app, leading to emotional conflict before the couple finally reconciles. The film’s blend of humour, emotion, and scenic visuals captures the essence of old-school Bollywood romance.

At the box office, Param Sundari earned around Rs 54.85 crore in India and Rs 25 crore overseas, taking its total worldwide collection to approximately Rs 90 crore. The film was praised for its music by Sachin-Jigar, the lead pair’s chemistry, and its picturesque cinematography, though it faced some criticism for its depiction of Kerala’s local culture.

Since its release, both leads have been busy with new projects. Janhvi Kapoor followed Param Sundari with Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, co-starring Varun Dhawan and Rohit Saraf, and with Homebound, India’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards.

Sidharth Malhotra, meanwhile, continues to balance work and family life. The actor, known for Shershaah and Yodha, recently welcomed a baby girl with wife Kiara Advani in July 2025, jokingly referring to himself as a “supporting actor” in parenthood.
