Shilpa Shetty’s iconic restaurant Bastian Bandra to shut down tomorrow; special farewell announced
Mumbai: Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra has announced the closure of her well-known restaurant Bastian Bandra. The news comes at a turbulent time for the actress and her husband Raj Kundra, who are currently facing serious allegations of financial fraud.
Taking to Instagram, Shilpa penned an emotional note to her followers, confirming that Bastian Bandra will be shutting its doors this Thursday.
“This Thursday marks the end of an era as we bid farewell to one of Mumbai's most iconic destinations - BASTIAN BANDRA. A venue that gave us countless memories, unforgettable nights, and moments that shaped the city's nightlife now takes its final bow.”
To mark the farewell, Shilpa revealed that a special evening is being curated for close patrons — one filled with “nostalgia, energy, and magic.”
While Bastian Bandra is closing, she assured fans that the weekly Thursday night event, Arcane Affair, will continue at Bastian At The Top.
The restaurant, co-owned by Shilpa Shetty and restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, first opened in 2016 and relocated to its Bandra location in 2023. Known for its chic ambience and vibrant atmosphere, Bastian Bandra was a popular destination for food enthusiasts and celebrities alike.
Legal troubles continue for Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra
The closure comes at a time when Shilpa and her husband are embroiled in a financial fraud case. The couple has been booked by Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing (EOW) following a complaint filed by businessman Deepak Kothari.
Kothari alleges that between 2015 and 2023, he invested ₹60.4 crore in Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd, a now-defunct company linked to the couple, under the promise of business expansion. However, he claims the funds were diverted for personal use.
The case has now been transferred to the EOW for a detailed investigation.
As the legal proceedings unfold and Bastian Bandra closes its doors, Shilpa Shetty finds herself navigating both personal and professional crossroads.
