Only thing truly 'untouchable' here is your...: Janhvi Kapoor's boyfriend calls out casteist troll

In a powerful response to online discrimination, Shikhar Pahariya, the boyfriend of Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor, recently used his Instagram story to call out a troll who targeted him with a casteist remark under one of his posts. The incident has once again ignited a conversation about caste-based discrimination and the pervasive toxicity of online hate.
The controversy erupted over Shikhar’s heartwarming Diwali photos, in which he shared a series of images of himself and Janhvi, accompanied by their pets. Although the post was originally shared on November 1, a troll recently commented on the pictures with a derogatory remark, stating, "Lekin tu toh Dalit hai (But, you're a Dalit)."
Rather than ignoring the comment, Shikhar chose to take a stand and responded with a powerful message on his Instagram story. Expressing his disbelief that such narrow and discriminatory views persisted in 2025, Shikhar condemned the troll's attitude.
"It's honestly pathetic that in 2025, there are still people like you with such a small, backward mindset," Shikhar wrote, calling out the troll for spreading negativity. He went on to emphasise the true meaning of Diwali, a festival of light, progress, and unity, values that, according to him, seemed to be beyond the troll’s understanding.
"Diwali is a festival of light, progress, and unity, concepts that are clearly beyond your limited intellect," Shikhar added. He further highlighted that India’s strength lies in its diversity and inclusivity, something the troll seemed unable to grasp.
With sharp wit and conviction, Shikhar concluded his message with a final jab at the troll’s ignorance: “Maybe instead of spreading ignorance, you should focus on educating yourself because right now, the only thing truly 'untouchable' here is your level of thinking.”
The incident has brought renewed attention to the persistent issue of caste-based discrimination in India, especially within the context of social media, where hate speech often finds a platform.
