From 'Prem Pujari' to 'Gambler': Shatrughan Sinha's tribute to Dev Anand

Mumbai: Veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha has paid tribute to legendary star Dev Anand on his 14th death anniversary, remembering him as one of the most stylish and timeless icons of Indian cinema.
Sinha took to X to share two throwback stills from the films they worked on together — 'Prem Pujari' and 'Gambler'. In his post, he described Dev Anand as “one of the most stylish and evergreen heroes till date” and expressed gratitude and affection for the late actor.
The actor added that Dev Anand’s advice and encouragement continue to remain close to his heart even today, writing: “Your motivation & advice is very close to my heart even today. Long Live Dev Saheb!”
'Prem Pujari', directed by Dev Anand, starred Waheeda Rehman, Prem Chopra, Madan Puri and Amrish Puri in key roles. The drama follows Ramdev Bakshi, a peace-loving army officer who defies orders and faces a court-martial, eventually disappearing.
Their second collaboration, 'Gambler', directed by Amarjeet, featured Dev Anand, Zaheeda and Shatrughan Sinha in pivotal roles.
Dev Anand passed away in London on December 3, 2011, at the age of 88, reportedly after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Actor Jackie Shroff also shared a heartfelt tribute on X, posting scenes from the 1982 film 'Swami Dada', directed by Dev Anand and marking Shroff’s debut. He captioned the post with “Remembering Dev Saab on his death anniversary”.
