Will continue the legal battle, says Shamna Kasim

The interrogation as part of the Shamna Kasim blackmailing case has been completed. IG Vijay Sakhare told the media that the accused were planning to kidnap the actress.

Speaking to Mathrubhumi News, the actress said that the accused revealed that they got her number from a production controller. She said that she has never heard the names of the accused and that she was not approached by any of these faces or names. 

"IG Vijay Sakhare said the accused were planning to kidnap me. Even in their voice recordings, they had mentioned that I don’t step out of my home and that they knew where I lived. So all this points towards that direction," the actress stated. 

Shamna said that she got the proposal on May 25 and that she communicated with a man who introduced himself as Anwar through WhatsApp. She also said that she had no connection with them prior to that.

“We were not sure whether we wanted to proceed legally after they were caught based on the complaint filed by my mother. However, we decided to move ahead with it. I knew that I would have to listen to whatever the accused said and that many would believe their version of the story.”

“But I was ready to face all that. I knew that other girls would have been victims to their traps as they did everything so professionally. They are a big gang. They use women and children to do the scam” the actress said.

Shamna claimed that Sherriff and Ariff are the people who pulled strings in the background and that five people who visited her were arrested in the beginning. 

Shamna suspected women and children to be involved in the case as their voices can be heard in the voice recordings of the ‘groom’s’ alleged brother, which she possesses.

Anwar, who was the alleged ‘groom’, is married and has two children. Shamna Kasim said that she does not even want to utter his name. “It is said that a woman's safety is in the hands of her husband once she is married. I wonder how there will be protection and security for women when such incidents take place. They fooled an entire family. I don’t know how it happened.” Shamna said.

Shamna added that she will continue the legal battle.
